POEMI Wins an Award at the Tableware International Awards of Excellence for Its Origen Collection

On February 8, 2026, at the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, the winners of the Tableware International Awards of Excellence, one of the most important international awards dedicated to tableware, were announced. The jury evaluated projects in 15 categories, based on criteria of design, innovation, and aesthetics, and our Origen collection won the Hospitality Dinnerware category.

Tableware International was the first to publish the complete list of winners, in which POEMI appears in the hospitality category:

A few days later, the publication dedicated a separate article to the Origen collection, with details about the process and material:

„Origen Collection is meticulously handcrafted from terrazzo stoneware, infusing a sense of warmth and authenticity into every object”, writes Tableware International, adding that each piece „can serve as both a decorative object and an exquisite dinnerware to fine dining experiences”.

For the workshop in Sibiu, an international award in the category dedicated to hospitality means confirmation that the direction of the Origen collection, inspired by the works of Constantin Brâncuși and traditional Romanian objects, also works in front of an international jury of product design specialists. Each piece in Origen is handcrafted from terrazzo-type ceramic stoneware, which is water-resistant and dishwasher-safe, designed to function both as a decorative object and as a serving piece, suitable for high-end restaurants and hotels.

The Tableware International Award thus adds to the international journey of the Origen collection, alongside recognition also received from BigSEE, confirms the fact that a collection conceived and crafted in a workshop in Sibiu can compete, in terms of design and execution, with established producers from all over the world.

The Hospitality Dinnerware category is specially dedicated to tableware used in restaurants and hotels, a segment where resistance to daily use must go hand in hand with aesthetic appeal. The fact that the jury chose precisely the Origen collection in this category confirms that the pieces work just as well in a professional context, with intense use, as they do as a decorative object in a private home.
