The POEMI Capsule at the Bucharest Design Festival

Bucharest Design Festival is the design month born from and for Bucharest. Exhibitions, installations, curated spaces, urban interventions, and events connect new generations of creatives with design professionals and specialized communities with the general public.

Within BDF Professional | Local Design, hosted between June 5-21 at CINA (10 Benjamin Franklin St.), visitors could also explore the Romanian Design Brands exhibition. Objects of Romanian Design, part of the format dedicated to promoting contemporary Romanian design and architecture.

As part of this exhibition, POEMI was present at Bucharest Design Festival with a dedicated system: the POEMI capsule.

The POEMI Capsule at CINA

EARTH - HAND - FIRE capsule reunited POEMI pieces selected from several collections in a space of becoming, far from ostentation. Raw clay, the craftsman's gesture, the traces of fire. Each stage of the ceramic process became part of the narrative. A discreet echo of Brâncuși's thought: that the essence of a thing does not lie in its appearance, but in the long and slow journey through which it came to exist.

The name of the capsule encapsulates the journey of every POEMI object: the earth—that is, the clay from which we begin—the hand that shapes it, and the kiln’s fire that transforms it once and for all. I have exhibited finished parts from our collections, alongside ceramic totems that visually marked the space, bringing to the foreground the texture, weight, and minor imperfection specific to manual work.

Earth, hand, and fire are, after all, the very stages that each piece goes through in our workshop in Sibiu.

Thank you

We thank everyone who visited the CINA space to see the capsule, as well as the Bucharest Design Festival organizers for hosting us. Seeing our objects in an exhibition context, alongside other Romanian design brands, is the kind of experience that reminds us why we continue to work with ceramics by hand, with patience.

Event held as part of Bucharest Design Festival 2026.
