The Story
Earth and water, this is how it all began. The earth is live-giving and when it is worked in any form with the hands, it is timelessly reborn in another shape. In our case, by the power of fire and air.
Each POEMI item and collection tells a story. We are inspired by things, experiences, and emotions from childhood. The plaster on the walls of the house, the passing of seasons which puts its mark on all and everything, the table with the three-legged chairs we used to eat at, the wooden tray where the bread was kneaded.
Having such a source of inspiration, our purpose is to create shapes, textures, and glazes that inspire both chefs who want to emphasize their dishes as well as people who wish to share the joy of a meal with family and friends.

About Us | Meet the Creators
We are Alexandra and Florin, two young people who embarked on an extraordinary journey into the world of ceramics, guided by our love for craftsmanship and beauty. In 2016, without any prior experience in the art of pottery, we began a self-taught learning adventure that transformed our lives and ignited a passion within us that continues to grow today.
For two years, we taught ourselves, continually refining our skills and challenging ourselves to discover the secrets of ceramics. With each day spent shaping the clay, we deepened our understanding of this unique art form. We learned to combine creativity with functionality and durability, transforming simple materials into timeless objects that delight the eye and awaken emotions.
In recent years, we have had the privilege of creating numerous tableware collections for restaurants in the country and abroad, globally.
At the same time, we have assumed the mission to promote the importance of choosing sustainable, simple, and durable ceramic objects, designed to accompany everyday life in people's homes and bring an extra touch of beauty and joy. We are equally delighted by every order that reaches someone's home. For us, ceramics do not belong only to restaurants, but also to home tables, where family, friends, and memories gather. It fulfills us to know that the objects created in our studio become part of these moments and are chosen by people who appreciate timeless design, quality, and carefully crafted work.

The process
Every POEMI piece comes to life through a meticulous process that takes at least four weeks to complete, with careful attention devoted to every stage of production.
Depending on the material and the type of product, we use a variety of forming techniques—from jiggering and trimming to hand-building. Once each piece has been shaped and carefully finished, it is left to dry naturally until it reaches the ideal moisture level for firing.
The first firing, known as the bisque firing, takes place in specialised electric kilns at temperatures between 950°C and 1,000°C. A complete firing cycle lasts approximately 48 hours.
Each piece is then individually glazed before undergoing a second firing at temperatures ranging from 1,200°C to 1,250°C, depending on the stoneware body and the glaze used. This final firing vitrifies the ceramic, giving it the strength and durability.
How to Care for POEMI Products
- Before first use. Before using your POEMI ceramics for the first time, wash each piece with warm water and mild dishwashing detergent to remove any dust or residues that may have accumulated during transport.
- Handle with care. Although stoneware is exceptionally durable, it should still be handled with care. We recommend placing pieces gently in the sink or dishwasher and avoiding excessive stacking or direct contact between items to minimise the risk of chipping.
- Un-glazed surfaces. Some POEMI pieces feature unglazed areas that highlight the natural beauty of the clay. If these surfaces come into contact with strongly coloured foods, sauces, or beverages, we recommend washing the piece promptly to help prevent staining.
- Cutlery marks. Grey marks may occasionally appear on light-coloured glazes after contact with certain types of cutlery. These marks are not defects or signs of poor quality. They are a normal result of metal particles being deposited on the glaze surface during use. The marks can usually be removed using a powdered ceramic cleaner, a gentle cream cleanser, or a simple mixture of lemon juice and baking soda.
